CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION : AGS, ZIRAN
Intro: AGS Ziran Children’s Day cum Young Entrepreneurs Carnival 2024, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Army Goodwill School Ziran, Tangmarg on 14 Nov 2024 in the sprawling lush green woods of school vicinity with much fervour and passion.
Aim: The aim of celebrating Children’s Day is to promote awareness about children’s rights, their education, and well-being. It also emphasizes creating a nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and flourish, safe from abuse, exploitation, and neglect.
Description: The Chief Guest of the event, Mr Farooq Ahmad Shah MLA Gulmarg received a warm welcome with flowers from Kindergarten Kids. The Carnival started with Cultural events and Fancy Dress competition. The highlights of the Carnival were various stalls like Biryani, Sweets, Dry Fruit, Tea, Fruit Custard, Coffee, Kashmiri Kehwa, Ready-made set by student. The audience were mesmerised with the performance of the children.
The carnival was witnessed by 568 students. The Chief Guest was delighted to see the large number of young children especially girl child participating enthusiastically and he awarded Prizes to the winners of various activities. He also further addressed and emphasised the gathering on Importance of fun & entrepreneurship in a child’s life. He congratulated the Secretary, Principal and Staff members for successful conduct of the event.
Event: AGS Ziran hosted an unforgettable Children's Day celebration with a variety of engaging activities that brought excitement and joy to everyone. The events included the crowd-favorite Jalebi Race, where students dashed to grab sweet treats, and the Sack Race, which had everyone cheering as participants hopped their way to victory. The Fashion Show added a touch of glamour, with students showcasing creative outfits, while the Tug of War event built team spirit and strength.
In the Musical Chair competition, students moved to lively tunes, eagerly competing for seats, and the Lemon Race tested balance and focus as students carefully balanced lemons on spoons. The Balloon Breaking event filled the air with bursts of laughter and excitement as students competed to pop balloons as quickly as possible.
ARMY MEDICAL CAMP : AGS, ZIRAN
Intro: The Army Medical Camp organized by 6 Dogra in collaboration with Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tangmarg was specially held at Army Goodwill School Ziran on 06 Nov 2024 for the benefit of its students. This initiative highlighted the army’s dedication to student welfare, focusing on the health needs of young learners to support their academic journey and personal growth.
Aim: The camp aimed to provide quality healthcare services to students, identify any health issues, and promote health awareness within the school community. By focusing on the needs of children and adolescents, the camp sought to improve student well-being, enabling them to lead healthier lives and perform better academically.
Description: The camp provided students with a range of healthcare services, including routine check-ups, dental and vision screenings, and preventive healthcare advice. Medical professionals from 6 Dogra and SDH Tangmarg offered personalized consultations, addressing common health issues that affect school-age children. The team also educated students on essential health practices, such as proper hygiene, balanced nutrition, and the importance of physical activity.
Participants: 187 x students from class 5th to 9th take part in this medical camp.

A Memorable Day for Army Goodwill School Students
Today, students from the 2nd to 5th classes of Army Goodwill School Ziran embarked on an exciting picnic to the beautiful Mughal Gardens. The day began with eager anticipation as students boarded the bus, chattering about the fun that lay ahead.
Upon arrival, the students were greeted by the stunning landscapes and vibrant flora of the gardens. They explored the lush greenery, admired the intricate designs of the pathways, and enjoyed the serene ambiance. Guided by their teachers, the students learned about the historical significance of the gardens, enriching their knowledge while having fun.

#Hoor ul Ain, a talented 7th-grade student from AGS Ziran, has achieved remarkable success by securing first position in the prestigious International Letter Writing Competition organized by Young Minds. Her exceptional writing skills and creativity were recognized on a grand scale, highlighting her dedication and talent.
In a recent ceremony, Hoor was felicitated by karnal Anil Kumar (Army Postal Service) and SSPO Javaid Ahmad Haji, who praised her outstanding achievement. As part of the recognition, she was presented with a certificate and a monetary award of 25,000, celebrating her excellence in communication and expression.
This accomplishment not only brings honor to Hoor but also sets a commendable example for her peers. Her success story inspires young writers everywhere to harness their creativity and express themselves through the written word. Congratulations to Hoor ul Ain on this significant achievement!
COMMANDER'S VISIT TO AGS, ZIRAN.
Intro:- Today, We were honored to host a memorable visit by Brig. R Vinod Commander 15 Corps. Arty. Brigade to the school, an occasion that left a positive and lasting impression on both students and staff. The commander’s thoughtful gesture of presenting chairs to the school has significantly enhanced our facilities, allowing for greater comfort and utility in our classrooms. This generous donation will undoubtedly contribute to a more conducive learning environment for our students, and we deeply appreciate the support. He was briefed on the school's academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and the impact the school has made in the local community.

Aim: The aim of celebrating Independence Day is to foster a deep sense of national pride and unity among all members of our community. It serves as a moment to honor the sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom and to reflect on the progress we have made as a nation. By coming together in celebration, we renew our dedication to the principles of liberty, justice, and equality that define our shared identity.
Description: The day began with the hoisting of the national flag by the school principal, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem. The sight of the tricolor fluttering against the sky filled everyone with immense pride.The celebration at Army Goodwill School Ziran was not just a commemoration of the past but also a call to action for the future. In the finals of the Intra AGS Volleyball Championship, AGS Ziran emerged victorious over AGS Uri. The match showcased impressive skills and competitive spirit from both teams. AGS Ziran demonstrated exceptional teamwork and strategic play, ultimately securing their win with a decisive final set. The victory highlights AGS Ziran's strong performance and their ability to excel under pressure. Congratulations to AGS Ziran for their well-earned championship title!
Visit of AGS Ziran Students to NIFT Srinagar,May 27 2024
A group of 49 enthusiastic students (33 Girls and 16 Boys) along with 5 staff Members from Army Goodwill School (AGS) Ziran had an enriching educational visit to the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Srinagar. This initiative aimed to provide the students with exposure to the world of fashion design and textile technology.

Celebration of Kargil Vijay diwas
To commemorate 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a motivational movie depicted the bravery of our soldiers was screened at #AGS_Ziran on 11 May 2024.
The Kargil Vijay Diwas event held at our school was truly inspiring and motivating.The Movie shown depicted the bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers during the Kargil war. The day was filled with patriotic fervor and remembrance as students immersed themselves in activities to honor the bravery and sacrifices of our soldiers. As part of the commemoration, students treated to a special screening of a patriotic movie highlightening the valor and dedication of our armed forces. The movie served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our soldiers and inspired the students to uphold the values of courage, patriotism and unity. Overall, the event was well organised and impactful. The pamphlets were distributed among the students which have helped us to learn more about the history and significance of this important day. The speeches given by teachers and students further emphasised the importance of remembering and honouring the sacrifices made by our soldiers.
Celebrating Vijay Diwas at our school was not just about commemorating a historical event but also about instilling values of patriotism,sacrifice, and national pride among the youth. SCHOOL PICNIC : AGS, ZIRAN
Intro: A school picnic is a cherished event where students and teachers venture out of the classroom to a enjoy a day of fun and relaxation in a different setting. On 10th May 2024 AGS, Ziran organised a day trip for Kindergarten students to Tangmarg Public Park.
Aim: The aim of a school picnic is to provide students with a break from their regular academic routine and to foster social interaction, teamwork and appreciation for the outdoors.
Description: The day started with the excitement as students gathered at the school, ready to embark on their adventure. Sweets, snacks and other eatables were distributed among the students from Secretary AGS, Ziran Col R S Rawat. Once the students reached picnic spot Tangmarg activities like sports, games and nature walks often take center stage. Throughout the day there was plenty of laughter, chatter and bonding as students engage in various activities and simply enjoy each other’s company. Teachers also play a crucial role, not only supervising but also participating in the activities, which helps strengthen the teacher-student bond.As the day draws to a close, tired but happy students return to school, often with souvenirs like photos or small trinkets to remember the day by. The school picnic isn’t just about fun it is also a valuable opportunity for personal growth, social interaction and building lasting relationship within the school community.

MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION : AGS, ZIRAN
Intro: Mother’s Day is a special day celebrated worldwide to honor and appreciate mothers and mother figures. It’s typically observed with gesture like giving cards, flowers, gifts, or spending quality time with mothers to express love and gratitude for their role in our lives.
Aim: The aim of Mother’s Day is to honor and celebrate mothers, motherhood and maternal bonds. It’s a day dedicated to showing appreciation for the love, care, and sacrifices mothers make for their children and families.
Description: The celebration began with a special program where students, teachers and staff gathered to express their gratitude and love for mothers everywhere. The program kicked off with heartfelt speeches from students sharing their personal experiences and memories with their mothers. Some students recited poems or sang songs dedicated to their moms, while others shared touching stories that highlighted the unconditional love of mothers. The Mother’s Day celebration at our school was not just a one-day event but a reminder of the importance of appreciating and honouring mothers everyday. It was a beautiful tribute to the selfless love and devotion of mothers, reminding us to always cherish and celebrate the incredible women in our lives.
Participants: 30 students from class 8th upto 10th participated this event.
Conclusion: The event concluded with the heartfelt expressions of gratitude, laughter, and are renewed sense of appreciation for the incredible role of mothers in our lives.
CELEBRATION OF #WORLD_RED_CROSS_DAY : AGS, ZIRAN
#Intro: International Red Cross Day is observed on May 8th every year to commemorate the birthday of Henry Dunant, the founder of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). It’s a day to recognize the humanitarian work of the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies worldwide.
#Aim: The aim of International Red Cross Day is to raise awareness about the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross societies, promote their principles of impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality and encourage support for their activities worldwide.
#Description: The day commenced with a special assembly, where students gathered to learn about the history and mission of the Red Cross. Following the assembly, students participated in variety of engaging activities designed to deepen their understanding of humanitarian issues and inspire them to take action. Interactive workshops on first aid techniques provided practical skills and knowledge that could potentially save lives in emergency situations. Students also had the opportunity to explore exhibits showcasing the Red Cross’s global impact and learn about the
organisation’s ongoing efforts to alleviate suffering and promote resilience in communities affected by conflict, disaster and health emergencies. A symposium on the importance of the day, drawing cum painting Competition was also held at AGS, Ziran in which students of class 6th upto 10th participated.
#Conclusion: The celebration reached its zenith when Mr.Maqsood Ahmad Khan (Principal) Proposed the vote of thanks and expressed his sense of cordial gratitude towards the students for their splendid performance and concluded the celebration with the slogans.
WORLD EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS
Intro:- Today on 22nd April 2024, AGS, Ziran celebrated Earth Day with enthusiasm, commitment, and a sense of responsibility towards our planet. The event was a culmination of educational activities, interactive sessions, and eco-conscious initiatives aimed at raising awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
The day began with an inspiring assembly, where students and teachers gathered to reflect on the importance of Earth Day and the significance of protecting our planet. A thought-provoking speech emphasized the urgent need for collective action to address environmental challenges, urging everyone to take responsibility for their ecological footprint.

HOLISTIC WELLNESS WORKSHOP
Visit of Miss Anamika Singh to AGS, Ziran on 15 Apr 2024. Miss Anamika Singh Adaa, a Motivational speaker has touched over 01 million lives by contributing to not only participants’ skills but also their well-being, using dance, meditation and other art forms as a medium to make them realize the freedom to explore and experience all emotions, and express them through the physicilisation of their soul. This purpose has given birth to Adaa’s i to I wellness journey, empowering people to navigate both physical and mental concerns, and grow holistically.
The aim and objective of the workshop was to engage the minds and hearts of people in such a way that motivates them to think more clearly, see opportunities and move forward with action.
The Workshop was attended by students of class 7th, 9th & 10th and Teachers of AGS, Ziran.
#Description The Workshop started with motivational speech in which she emphasized the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional well-being, offering practical tips for achieving balance in all aspects of life. For session likely covered topics such as stress management, healthy life style habits, mindfulness techniques, and the importance of self-care. Overall her lecture likely left a lasting impact on the audience, inspiring them to prioritize their holistic wellness journey. Miss Singh encouraged participants to integrate holistic practices into their daily routines, including movements, meditation, self-care rituals, and meaningful connections with others. The holistic approach to wellbeing Miss Singh has shared some formulas like F5 (fall, fail, feel, flow & fly) and i to I techniques.
BOOK DISTRIBUTION & FELICITATION TO MERITORIOUS STUDENTS.
Intro :Brig & Mrs Suhas Matte Cdr 79 Mnt Bd, Col & Mrs RS Rawat visited AGS, Ziran on 01 Apr 2024 to distribute free text books to 172 x BPL Students and to felicitate the meritorious of Session 2023.
Aim :The aim and objective of distributing books among BPL students is to ensure that all children,regardless of their economic background, have access to educational resources. By providing books we aim to promote literacy, empower students to succeed academically, and break the cycle of poverty by giving them the tools they need to learn and grow, and to felicitate meritorious students to recognise their academic achievements and Hardwork, to boost their confidence, self-esteem and sense of pride in their achievements.
Description: The program started with the display of innovations/projects made by students. These students showcase their knowledge, skills and creativity in a tangible and practical way followed by welcome speech by MC’s and school brief by a teacher. The Chief guests were very delighted to see the performance of AGS, Ziran both in academics as well as in co-curricular activities. The Cdr also appreciated the contribution of 06 Dogra, Col RS Rawat Secy, AGS, Ziran, Lt Col Vinay Pathaniya OIC, AGS, Ziran, Mr Maqsood Ahmad Khan Principal, AGS, Ziran and Staff AGS, Ziran for their sincere effort in school development plans. Besides this Brig Suhas Matte gifted library books and lockers for the upgradation of school library. The students who had shown excellent academic performance in last academic year were felicitated by Capt Anamika Retd and Mrs Rawat. Besides this teachers who had shown good performance in the field of academics and co-curricular activities were also felicitated by Brig Suhas Matte followed by free text books to BPL Students.

AGS, Ziran Celebrating 25 Glorious Years: Silver Jubilee at the Reopening of School
It's a day of grandeur and jubilation as our school opens its doors once again, adorned with the shimmering spirit of celebration for its Silver Jubilee! Twenty-five years of excellence, camaraderie, and cherished memories have paved the way for this momentous occasion.
Walking through the school gates, Students feels the energy buzzing in the air. Friends rush to greet each other with big smiles and stories of their holiday adventures. Teachers welcome the students back with warmth and encouragement, eager to guide them through new lessons and discoveries.
Amidst applause and admiration, OIC AGS, Ziran and Principal AGS, Ziran take the stage to share words of wisdom and reflection, reminiscing about the school's humble beginnings and its remarkable journey to becoming a beacon of knowledge and enlightenment. Ribbon cutting ceremony has been organised to celebrate this day with great enthusiasm. Sweets and toffees were also distributed among the students to celebrate their first day of school.
The classrooms are filled with the familiar hum of learning - the sound of pencils scratching against paper, the eager chatter of classmates discussing their holiday adventures, and the gentle rustle of turning pages in textbooks.

Today Republic Day was celebrated at AGS Ziran with great fevor and enthusiasm.
Celebrations started with wreath lying ceremony ,Followed by Flag Hoisting by Oic AGS Ziran, Maj Abishek and some speeches by students.
Our Republic Day celebrations were not just a commemoration; they were a reflection of our commitment to uphold the principles of democracy, equality, and diversity.we came together to honour the visionary leaders who gifted us our Constitution and laid the foundation for our democratic republic.
Sweet distribution and Tea with troops were also the highlights of the day.
CELEBRATION OF CHILDRENS DAY CUM YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS CARNIVAL 2023 CELEBRATED BY ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL, ZIRAN ON 14 NOV 2023
AGS Ziran Young Entrepreneurs Carnival 2023,was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Army Goodwill School Ziran, Tangmarg on 14 Nov 2023 in the sprawling lush green woods of school vicinity with much fervour and passion.
The Chief Guest of the event, received a warm welcome with flowers from Kindergarten Kids. The Carnival started with Cultural events and Fancy Dress competition. The highlights of the Carnival were various stalls like Biryani, Sweets, Dry Fruit, Tea, Fruit Custard, Coffee, Kashmiri Kehwa, Readymade set by student. The audience were mesmerised with the performance of the children.
The carnival was witnessed by 750 students. The Chief Guest was delighted to see the large number of young children especially girl child participating enthusiastically and he awarded Prizes to the winners of various activities. He also further addressed and emphasised the gathering on Importance of fun & entrepreneurship in a child’s life. He congratulated the Secretary, Principal and Staff members for successful conduct of the event.
VISIT OF PROF DINESH PRASAD SAKLANI DIRECTOR, NCRET TO AGS ZIRAN
Prof Dinesh Prasad Saklani, Director, NCERT visited AGS, Ziran accompanied with Prof PK Mandal, Secretary, NCERT, Prof Sudhir Singh, Director, Academics JKBOSE and Dr Arif Jan, Deputy Director, Academics JKBOSE on 06 Oct 2023. The Director, NCERT was briefed by Maj Vinay Pathania, OIC, AGS, Ziran and Mr Maqsood Ahmad Khan, Principal, AGS, Ziran on various teaching and administrative initiatives / methodologies undertaken to impart quality education to the students in all spheres of their curriculum.
He also appreciated the dedicated efforts put by staff and army and also complimented the faculty in achieving the high standards in the varied fields viz academics, sports and extracurricular activities. Moreover he exhorted all the teachers to continue strive towards excellence in near future.
Annual Day Celebrations
Army Goodwill School Ziran celebrated its Annual Day on 05th of September 2023. Many eminent dignitaries were present at the annual day celebration. All the students and their parents were invited to this function.The students from kindergarten Classes entertained everyone with their beautiful welcome dance. The programme continued with the mind-blowing performance got a standing ovation and much praise from the audience. The parents kept cheering for their children who were performing on the stage. Later on Prizes and Certificates were also distributed .The program ended with the Principal proposing the vote of thanks and extending his warm regards to everyone present at the Annual Day function.
AGS ZIRAN CELEBRATES 77TH INDEPANDENCE DAY WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOUR ON 15 AUGUST 2022
Independence Day celebrations in AGS, Ziran witnessed a new patriotic spectacle as it marked the 77th year of India achieving freedom from the British colonialism. The school was beautifully decorated with Tri-colour and students were proudly singing the songs of Patriotism. Students and staff members also donned colourful hues of nationalistic zeal. The flag hoisting ceremony amid singing of national anthem infused a new vim of nationalism among all and sundry, to showcase the spirit of unity amongst army and civil administration.
every year our school celebrated a special event on #Independence_Day with pomp and great joy. Everyone was excited to celebrate this day. We shall always remember the courageous troops and freedom fighters who gave their lives for our country since they are the reason we enjoy our freedom today.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS 2023 CELEBRATED AT AGS,ZIRAN
Intro: Today our school celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas 2023. Many activities were held to celebrate this day such as delivering of speeches, Painting Competitions, drawing Competitions, etc. Almost 100 students from 1st to 10th classes participated in these activities along with their concerned teachers under the supervision of the Principal.
This day commemorates the success of ''Operation Vijay'' which was launched to take back the Indian territories captured by the Pakistani intruders in the Kargil-Drass sector in 1999. On Kargil Vijay Diwas, the courage and determination was remembered, who steadfastly protected our nation in 1999.
Aim: This day is celebrated to honour the valour and sacrifice of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty during the Kargil War. The Indian Armed Forces defeated Pakistan on July 26, 1999.
Participants: A total number of 100 students (Boys and Girls) from class 1st to 10th have participated in the celebration
Outcome: This day was celebrated in order to honour the sacrifices made by the soldiers of the Indian Army during the 1999 Kargil War. All the students and the whole staff of our school paid tributes to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Kargil War and saluted their bravery. This celebration became a mean to develop the qualities of bravery and patriotism among the students. Students got knowledge about this war. Many students became passionate to fight for their nation and become a real hero. Besides, students got an opportunity to show their talents by participating in the above mentioned activities held today.
Conclusion: The event was concluded with the wreath laying ceremony in which the students gave a rare opportunity to watch some videos of Kargil War. All the students took an oath that they will never forget the bravery of Indian Soldiers who sacrificed their lives during this war.
International Drug Abuse Day
AGS,Ziran Celebrated International Drug Abuse Day on 26th of june 2023.

Aim : To spread awareness about the problems caused because of drug abuse around the world and to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.
AGS ZIRAN OBSERVED WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY ON 31 MAY 2023
Intro: On the occasion of “World No Tobacco Day”, an awareness rally by the staff members and the students was organized by Army Goodwill School, Ziran. During the rally, public awareness play-cards were displayed to inform the people about the adverse effects of smoking or chewing any means of tobacco. Pamphlets containing messages like “No Tobacco or Tobacco Free Society” were also distributed among the general public. An awareness programme was also organized to inform the students that the use of tobacco causes various types of cancers, cardiovascular diseases, TB and several other diseases. In the said programme, several students and staff members participated and shared their thoughts regarding the ill effects of tobacco. The use of tobacco reduces the life span of smokers by 6 to 10 years as compared to non-smokers.
Aim: The main aim of observing “World No Tobacco Day” was to raise awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of using tobacco and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form.
Participants: A total number of 08 faculty members and 100 students from AGS, Ziran participated in the awareness programme on “World No Tobacco Day”.
Theme: The theme of “World No Tobacco Day 2023” was “We Need Food, Not Tobacco”.
Description: Speeches on the awareness were delivered by Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar (Teacher) and Ms. Tehzeeb Bilal, Ms. Mehrun Nissa (Students) during the awareness programme. Students present there were made aware about the hazardous effects of tobacco and how this tobacco use has been a silent killer of the mankind. On the occasion, A Drawing cum Painting Competition was conducted among students on the said Theme of the day. Students showcased their talents in the field of Drawing and Painting and expressed their views on ill effects of Tobacco. According to WHO, the harmful impact of the tobacco industry on the environment is vast and growing adding unnecessary pressure to our planet’s already scarce resources and fragile ecosystems. In the end, the Mr. Arshed Ahmad Sheikh (Teacher) highlighted the significance of the day and appreciated the initiative taken by Army Goodwill School, Ziran for such a programme.
PLANTATION DRIVE IN AGS ZIRAN ON 27 MAY 2023
Intro: On 27 May 2023, a plantation drive was conducted by AGS, Ziran Tangmarg amid celebrations of World Environment Day 2023. The initiative is in consonance with the National Forest Policy 1988 and the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Policy 2011, which envisage afforestation on all degraded and denuded lands in the Union Territory within and outside forests. The Drive aims at creating a people’s movement of all stakeholders particularly village panchayats, students, institutions, civil society etc.
Aim: The main aim of this drive was to bring the two-third geographical area of Jammu and Kashmir under the forest and tree cover. The forest and tree cover in Jammu and Kashmir is about 55%, which is substantially higher than the National average of 24.56%.
Participants: A total number of 300 students from class 6th to 10th participated in the plantation Drive. Apart from this, Principal, OIC AGS, Ziran, Staff Members, Range Officer Social Forestry Division Baramulla and other dignitaries participated also.
Conduct: The plantation Drive started from school where all the officers and students planted saplings outside the vicinity of the School. The drive is implemented in the spirit of participation which will bring economic benefits apart from improving Quality and Quantity. AGS, Ziran planted 40 Deodar Trees during the said drive. After planting trees, a rally from AGS, Ziran to Forest Protection Force Gamma Unit K-12 Tangmarg was taken too aware the general public regarding the benefits of planting trees.
Conclusion: At the end of the programme, all the participants were quite happy as they were satisfied by the job done. They believed that atleast they have contributed something towards this drive by planting trees. They urged that such drives must be conducted in future too.
AGS, ZIRAN CELEBRATED WORLD RED CROSS DAY ON 08 MAY 2023
Intro: World Red Cross Day was observed at AGS, Ziran on 8th of May 2023. A special assembly in this scenario was organized on the day wherein the staff members of the school came forward, speeches were delivered, the students were apprised of the job being done by the Red Cross Society during natural calamities or war time. The students were motivated to know more about the society and to serve the humanity if get a chance.
A drawing cum painting competition on the importance of the day was also held at AGS, Ziran in which students of classes 6th to 10th participated.
The day was celebrated to commemorate the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, every year. The day also marks the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, who was the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The day is the annual celebration of their principles when people in every corner of the world pay tribute to the humanitarian agencies for their amazing contribution to helping people in need.
Theme: The theme of Red Cross Day 2023 is "Everything we do comes from the Heart". With this year's theme, the international Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies (IFRC) is putting kindness in the picture and is encouraging all kindness to each other. The persons next door are the first ones to set up and support those in need around them. They could be someone around them, they could be someone at work; a neighborhood business owner; someone at gym, shop or market we go to; or someone living close by who has always been by our side. However they support us, they do it with love and #fromtheheart. It is enlightening us all that despite the world appearing scary and extremely tough, there is hope and humanity that can be found in the act of kindness.
Aim: The day aims to broaden the public understandings of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Red Crescent societies are affiliated and work in cooperation with the World Red Cross to assist in the activities of the movement. The day celebrates the uniqueness and unity of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Participants: Students from classes 6th to 10th participated.
Conclusion: The celebration reached its zenith when various teachers of AGS, Ziran expressed their sense of cordial gratitude towards the students for their splendid performances and concluded the celebration with these slogans:

Intro. AGS, Ziran conducted an Inter House Quiz Competition 2023 on 3rd March 2023. The objective behind this was to evaluate the knowledge of the participants as well as beyond academics and to make them familiar with the prospects of quizzes and the objectivity of the question. Quiz competition promotes a healthy debate amongst participants in order to learn from each other. The competition covered every aspect of G20 Summit 2023 to be held in India later this year.
Aim. The main aim of the competition was to develop interest and to popularize quizzing activities among students and to encourage them to take part in all competitive examination. It helps the students to instill the values of knowledge, wisdom and compassion to make them smart citizens.
Theme. The theme of the competition was based on G20 Summit 2023 to be held in India.
Participants. There were a total of 4 Teams/Houses (Team ‘A’ Blue House, Team ‘B’ Red House, Team ‘C’ Yellow House, Team ‘D’ Green House) comprising 3 participants each who participated in the competition.
Conclusion. The competition was concluded by a few valuable words by the Secretary AGS, Ziran on importance of G20 Summit in India. AGS ZIRAN CONDUCTED ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION ON G20 SUMMIT ON 02 MAR 2023
Activity : Essay Writing Competition 2023.

Intro. Writing is an important part of life, whether at school, college, university or at workplace/ business. It helps to express feelings and thoughts to the other in a relatively permanent way and helps to express thoughts, feelings, ideas and beliefs. Writing encourages and enhances critical thinking, creative thinking and helps in organising thoughts and improve communication skills. Writing also helps in better presentation of facts, improves development of constructive arguments about a topic and articulate opinions. In order to achieve the above mentioned criteria, Essay Writing Competition was conducted by AGS, Ziran Tangmarg on 2nd Mar 2023. A total number of 13 students from different classes participated in the said competition to draw out the Talent, Imagination, Originality and Modernism in the field of writing among the participants. The competition was held in Multi-activity room of the school where the participants showcased their writing talents on G20 Summit 2023 to be held in India later this year.
Aim. The aim of the event was to provide the students an opportunity to showcase their critical and writing skills, write persuasively and presenting the topic in a well-connected & compact manner on G20 Summit to be held in India.
Participants. 13 x Students from different classes participated in essay writing competition on G20 Summit.
Conclusion. The competition was concluded by a few valuable words by the Secretary AGS, Ziran on importance of G20 Summit in India. The Essay Writing Competition was very informative and knowledge enriching regarding the G20 Summit 2023 to be held in India later this year and gave better experience to the participants. The Secretary, AGS Ziran congratulated the students on their grand success and wished them a bright future in their forthcoming quizzing endeavours.

1. Intro: The Polythene Free Campaign is one of the most significant cleanliness campaigns. With the help of cleanliness, we can keep our physical and mental health clean, which will make us feel good. Cleanliness gives rise to a good character by keeping our body, mind, and soul clean and peaceful. Maintaining cleanliness is the essential part of healthy living because it is the cleanliness only which helps to improve our personality by keeping clean externally and internally. It is everybody’s responsibility and one should keep themselves and their surroundings clean and hygienic. It also brings good and positive thoughts in the mind which slows down the occurrence of diseases.
Polythene plays the vital role in polluting the land, air, sea and water resources. These are harmful for marine species, wildlife and even for birds in some cases. Polythene bags are a major pollutant damaging our environment. While purchasing groceries, or even for many of other daily activities these bags are in common use. However, the convenience of these polythene bags comes at the high cost of environmental degradation and a negative impact on human health.
2. Aim: The main purpose of this programme was to create awareness among the locals regarding the ill effects of using Polythene, its harmful and deadly effects and to discourage the use of polythene in any form.
3. Participants: All faculty members and students from AGS, Ziran participated in the campaign. In addition, The Secretary, OIC, Principal of AGS Ziran and Jawans of 163 FD REGT also participated.
4. Description: The campaign started from Sub District Hospital Tangmarg where in students delivered speeches on Polythene Free society and hazardous effects of using polythene. Speeches on the awareness were delivered by Staff members and Students during the awareness campaign. Common people present there were made aware about the hazardous effects of polythene and how this polythene use has been a silent killer of the mankind. The harmful impact of the polythene industry on the environment is vast and growing adding unnecessary pressure to our planet’s already scarce resources and fragile ecosystems. In the end, the Secretary AGS Ziran Maj S Mallikarjuna highlighted the significance of the campaign and appreciated the initiative taken by Army Goodwill School, Ziran for such a programme.
After performing the programme, all the teachers and students made a door to door visit to nearby villages and started cleaning the roads, corners of village vicinity. The secretary honoured the sweepers for their noble job and appreciated the participants of the programme. In the end, all too oath of keeping our home, school and locality polythene free.

The audience were mesmerised with the performance of the children.
The carnival was witnessed by 750 students including students from other schools of Tangmarg region, parents and around 1000 locals. The Chief Guest was delighted to see the large number of young children especially girl child participating enthusiastically and he awarded Prizes to the winners of various recreational activities. He also further addressed and emphasised the gathering on Importance of fun & entrepreneurship in a child’s life. He congratulated the Secretary, Principal and Staff members for successful conduct of the event.

SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN AT ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL, ZIRAN ON 01 NOV 2022
Intro: The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India. With the help of cleanliness, we can keep our physical and mental health clean, which will make us feel good. Cleanliness gives rise to a good character by keeping our body, mind, and soul clean and peaceful. Maintaining cleanliness is the essential part of healthy living because it is the cleanliness only which helps to improve our personality by keeping clean externally and internally. It is everybody’s responsibility and one should keep themselves and their surroundings clean and hygienic. It also brings good and positive thoughts in the mind which slows down the occurrence of diseases.
Aim: The aim of this drive was to achieve the vision of a 'Clean India'. Cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel happiness living within that environment.
Participants: Cleanliness Drive is one of the many steps taken by the school towards India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. AGS, Ziran organized ‘Swachhta Bharat Abhiyaan’ in which 400 students of classes 1ST to 10th took part. Principal AGS, Ziran started the program with cleaning the corners of playground followed by students and staff.
Description: The main purpose of this programme was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits. SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN AT ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL, ZIRAN ON 02 OCT 2022

Cleanliness Drive is one of the many steps taken by the school towards India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. AGS, Ziran organized ‘Swachhta Bharat Abhiyaan’ on the eve of Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi in which 200 students of class 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th took part. The main purpose of this programme was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits.
After performing the programme, all the teachers and students from 4th to 10th participated in the drive. Secretary AGS, Ziran Maj S Mallikarjuna started the program with cleaning the corners of playground followed by students and staff. After cleaning the whole premises of the school, Secretary Maj S Mallikarjuna delivered the speech regarding the importance of sanitation. He also honoured the sweepers for their noble job and appreciated the participants of the programme. In the end, all too oath of keeping our home, school and locality clean.
INTER SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION 2022 CONDUCTED BY ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL, ZIRAN AT TOWNHALL TANGMARG
Inter School Quiz Competition 2022 was conducted with great enthusiasm by Army Goodwill School Ziran Tangmarg, at Town Hall Tangmarg on 28 Sep 2022 with much fervour and passion. The much awaited event was held with the level of interest for not only the participants but also the audience. The competition was tough and the children held their nerve and contested keenly. There were many questions for the audience and this added to the fun in the contest. The girl participants proved their mettle and class again.
The event was organized by 163 Fd Regt under the aegis of 15 Corps Artillery Brigade. In the event, there were six rounds of questions which includes Science, GK, Computer, English, Identifying Monuments and Rapid Fire Questions which comprises 10 Questions in each round. A total number of Five Schools/ Teams participated in the event. The participating schools were MTM Chandilora, Hanfia Model School Hariwatnoo, Owasia Islamic School Budipora, Owasia Islamic School Hariwatnoo and Army Goodwill School Ziran. The audience were mesmerised with the performance of the Schools. The event was witnessed by 15 participants, 200 students, around 50 parents and many locals.
The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were delighted to see the participants competing enthusiastically. The Guest of Honour awarded the Medals, Trophies to the winners and participating schools. He also further addressed and emphasised the audience on Importance of such events in a child’s life. He was delighted & appreciated on active participation and the school’s outstanding achievements. Army Goodwill School, Ziran was declared as the Winners of the competition. 1st Runners up MTM Chandilora, 2nd Owasia Islamic School Hariwatnoo. The Inter School Quiz Competition ended with the “Vote of Thanks” and refreshments.
INTER AGS ATHLETIC MEET 2022 CONDUCTED BY ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL, ZIRAN AT SPORTS FIELD TANGMARG
Inter AGS Athletic Meet 2022 was conducted with great enthusiasm in Army Goodwill School Ziran Tangmarg, on 24 Sep 2022 in the sprawling lush green woods of Sports Field Tangmarg with much fervour and passion.
The Chief Guest for the event was Brig & Mrs R Vinod Cdr, 15 Corps Arty Bde. The event started with Oath by the participants regarding Athletics. The Athletic Meet started with 200 mtr race (Girls). The highlights of the Athletic Meet were 100 mtr race (Girls), 100 mtr race (Boys), 200 mtr race (Girls), 200 mtr race (Boys), 400 mtr race (Girls), 400 mtr race (Boys), 800 mtr race (Boys), Long Jump (Boys), Triple Jump (Boys), High Jump (Boys), Short Put (Boys) and Javelin Throw (Boys). The audience were mesmerised with the performance of the Athletes. The event was witnessed by 70 participants, 500 students and around 2000 locals.
The Chief Guest was delighted to see the large number of young athletes participating enthusiastically. The Guest of Honour awarded the Medals, Trophies and the Certificates to the winners of various athletic events. He also further addressed and emphasised the gathering on Importance of athletics in a child’s life. He was delighted & appreciated on girls’ active participation in most of the Athletic Events and the school’s outstanding achievements. CLEANLINESS DRIVE AT ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL, ZIRAN ON 09 SEP 2022
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India. With the help of cleanliness, we can keep our physical and mental health clean, which will make us feel good. Cleanliness gives rise to a good character by keeping our body, mind, and soul clean and peaceful. Maintaining cleanliness is the essential part of healthy living because it is the cleanliness only which helps to improve our personality by keeping clean externally and internally. It is everybody’s responsibility and one should keep themselves and their surroundings clean and hygienic. It also brings good and positive thoughts in the mind which slows down the occurrence of diseases.
Cleanliness Drive is one of the many steps taken by the school towards India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. AGS, Ziran organized a Skit on ‘Swachhta hi Sewa’ in which 12 students of class 6th and 7th took part. The main purpose of this skit was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits.
After performing the skit, all the teachers and students from 4th to 10th participated in the drive. Secretary AGS, Ziran Maj S Mallikarjuna started the program with cleaning the corners of playground followed by students and staff. After cleaning the whole premises of the school, Secretary Maj S Mallikarjuna delivered the speech regarding the importance of sanitation. He also honoured the sweepers for their noble job and appreciated the participants of Skit. In the end, all too oath of keeping our home, school and locality clean.

Army Goodwill School, Ziran celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5th Sep 2022 to thank its faculty for their commitment towards teaching. Children made beautiful Gifts, Wishing cards and sent videos of the cards to their favourite teachers. Various programs were organised by the students to appreciate the unwavering commitment of the teachers for the mission and vision of this school ‘with a difference’.
To honour the people who have transformed their lives for the better, the students left no stone unturned to truly entertain them by means of various speeches, poems, cultural items. The students presented songs for their teachers with new lyrics reflecting their love for the teachers. The compeers reminded teachers of their school days when they as students were taught life skills by their mentors. Teachers also shared their thoughts with the students and promised/assured them that their future is in the right hands. The Chief Guest of the function, Maj S Mallikarjuna, Secretary, AGS, Ziran was mesmerised with the performance of the children and fondly said that the glory of the Teacher cannot be written even if the whole earth is transformed into paper, big trees made into pens and the entire water in the seven oceans is transformed into writing ink. He congratulated the teachers for inspiring and nurturing the students to march in the right direction. He appreciated their constant endeavour in bringing AGS to such a great height. To recognise the outstanding services rendered to the institution, Teachers were presented Gifts. This was followed by a Tea Party organised by the management as a small token of appreciation for the rightly called ‘beacons of light.’ The program ended with the Group Photograph.
ANNUAL SPORTS DAY 2022 AT ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL, ZIRAN 01 SEP 2022
Annual Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Army Goodwill School Ziran Tangmarg, on 1st Sep 2022 in the sprawling lush green woods with much fervour and passion.
The Chief Guest for the event was Brig R Vinod Cdr, 15 Corps Arty Bde. The event started with inauguration of newly constructed Physics Lab having all experimental devices for the students. The students of AGS Ziran had demonstrated various Innovations, which was indeed motivating factor for other students during the inauguration. The Annual Sports Day event started with Final match of Inter School Volleyball Championship (Girls). The highlights of the Sports Day were Inter School Volleyball Championship for Girls & Boys, Inter School Kho-Kho Championship for Girls and several fun filled recreational activities for kids like Jalebi Race, Lemon Spoon Race and Sack Race. The audience were mesmerised with the performance of the students. The event was witnessed by 150 participants and 500 students.
The Chief Guest was delighted to see the large number of young children participating enthusiastically. The Guest of Honour awarded the Trophies, Medals and the Certificates to the winners of various sports events conducted by AGS Ziran. He also further addressed and emphasised the gathering on Importance of sports in a child’s life. He was delighted & appreciated on girls’ active participation in almost all the Sports Events and the school’s outstanding achievements. The Sports Day ended with the National Anthem.

1. Intro: National Sports Day is celebrated globally to honour the sportspersons, traditional sports, sportsmanship and national sports teams. National Sports Day is considered a public holiday and is observed in different countries to celebrate their national sports players, sports teams and sports traditions who have earned recognition and respect for the country. In India, National Sports Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand. The national hockey player is the most celebrated Indian hockey player, who won gold medals for India in the Olympics 1928, 1932 and 1936.
2. In order to celebrate this, several Inter-House Competitions (Volley Ball, Kho-Kho and Kabaddi) were conducted by AGS, Ziran Tangmarg on 29-Aug-2022. A total number of 4 Houses comprising of 10 Participants each took part in the said competition.
3. Aim: The aim of celebrating this day was to create awareness about physical activity, overall health and sports. It also glorifies the support of trainers, families and coaches who create world-class athletes.

AGS ZIRAN CELEBRATES 76TH INDEPANDENCE DAY WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOUR ON 15 AUGUST 2022
Independence Day celebrations in AGS, Ziran witnessed a new patriotic spectacle as it marked the 76th year of India achieving freedom from the British colonialism. The school was beautifully decorated with Tri-colour and students were proudly singing the songs of Patriotism. Students and staff members also donned colourful hues of nationalistic zeal. The flag hoisting ceremony amid singing of national anthem infused a new vim of nationalism among all and sundry, to showcase the spirit of unity amongst army and civil administration.
On this auspicious occasion, a Tiranga Rally was organized, where in the students & Staff of Army Goodwill School Ziran participated actively and showcased their patriotism in vibrant colours. A drawing cum painting & Debate competition was also organized to discover the talents and creativity, students from Govt. and Pvt schools of Tangmarg Zone took part in this competition. 1. Intro: Drawing introduces as a medium for representation, expression and meaning making. Designed to expand students’ understanding of drawings through perceptual and conceptual workshops. Drawing into a world of observation, discovery and expression will introduce the student to innate desire to draw and describes the various approaches to the learning of drawing in the art workshops. The initiative plays a part in expanding the creative art and drawing skills among the students.
2. In order to achieve this a Zonal Level Drawing cum Painting Competition was conducted by AGS, Ziran Tangmarg on 13-Aug-2022. A total number of 5 Schools comprising of 04 Participants each took in the said competition. The competition was held in ART-Room of AGS, Ziran.

Debate participation promotes problem solving and innovate thinking and helps the students build links between words and ideas that make concepts more meaningful. The initiative plays a part in expanding the creative and analytical speaking skills among the students.

GO GREEN JAMMU AND KASHMIR DRIVE IN AGS ZIRAN ON 28 JULY 2022
Intro: On 28 July 2022, Honb’le Lieutenant Governor LG Manoj Sinha formally launches 'Green Jammu and Kashmir Drive 2022-23 at AIIMS Jammu. The Lieutenant Governor launched the drive by planting a sapling in AIIMS Jammu. The Green Jammu and Kashmir initiative is in consonance with the National Forest Policy 1988 and the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Policy 2011, which envisage afforestation on all degraded and denuded lands in the Union Territory within and outside forests. The Drive aims at creating a people’s movement of all stakeholders particularly village panchayats, students, institutions, civil society etc.
Aim: The main aim of this drive is to bring the two-third geographical area of Jammu and Kashmir under the forest and tree cover. The forest and tree cover in Jammu and Kashmir is about 55%, which is substantially higher than the National average of 24.56%.
Participants: A total number of 70 students (Girls) from class 8th, 9th and 10th participated in the Green Jammu and Kashmir Drive. Apart from this, Principal, Secy AGS, Ziran, Range Officer Social Forestry Division Baramulla and other dignitaries participated also.
Conduct: The Green Jammu and Kashmir Drive was launched by Honb’le Lieutenant Governor LG Manoj Sinha by planting a sapling in AIIMS Jammu. In the said drive, almost over 150 different units of Social Forestry Divisions participated via Live Streaming on WebEx. The formal launch of Green Jammu and Kashmir is implemented in the spirit of Public participation which will bring economic benefits apart from improving Quality and Quantity. The mass public participation was seen through the Live Streaming. In AGS, Ziran we planted 25 Deodar Trees during the said drive.
Conclusion: At the end of the programme, all the participants were quite happy as they were satisfied by the job done. They believed that atleast they have contributed something towards this drive by planting trees. They urged that such drives must be conducted in future too.
KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS 2022 CELEBRATED AT AGS,ZIRAN
Intro: Today our school celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas 2022. Many activities were held to celebrate this day such as delivering of speeches, Painting Competitions, drawing Competitions, etc. Almost 50 students from all the classes participated in these activities along with their concerned teachers under the supervision of the Principal.
This day commemorates the success of ''Operation Vijay'' which was launched to take back the Indian territories captured by the Pakistani intruders in the Kargil-Drass sector in 1999. On Kargil Vijay Diwas, the courage and determination was remembered, who steadfastly protected our nation in 1999.
Aim: This day is celebrated to honour the valour and sacrifice of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty during the Kargil War. The Indian Armed Forces defeated Pakistan on July 26, 1999.
Participants: A total number of 50 students (Boys and Girls) from class 1st and 10th have participated in the celebration.
Theme: The theme of the Kargil Vijay Diwas 2022 is “Remember, Rejoice and Renew”.
Outcome: This day was celebrated in order to honour the sacrifices made by the soldiers of the Indian Army during the 1999 Kargil War. All the students and the whole staff of our school paid tributes to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Kargil War and saluted their bravery. This celebration became a mean to develop the qualities of bravery and patriotism among the students. Students got knowledge about this war. Many students became passionate to fight for their nation and become a real hero. Besides, students got an opportunity to show their talents by participating in the above mentioned activities held today.
Conclusion: The event was concluded with the wreath laying ceremony in which the students gave a rare opportunity to watch some videos of Kargil War. All the students took an oath that they will never forget the bravery of Indian Soldiers who sacrificed their lives during this war.PICNIC OF AGS ZIRAN ON 27 JUNE 2022
Intro: A picnic for students of AGS, Ziran has been org under the aegis of 15 Corps Arty Bde to Sonamarg, Manasbal and adjoining areas on 27 Jun 2022 to provide exposure to various tourist spots in Kashmir and to give leisure time to the students.
Aim: The main aim of this picnic was to help the students to gain exposure and to become more active in every part of the life and also to focus on the students without distractions. It is Picnic which is the perfect opportunity to make our students feel loved and heard.
Participants: Students from class 4th to 10th and all the staff members. A total number of 235 students and 28 faculty members from AGS, Ziran were part of this picnic. In addition, The OIC of the school was also an important part of this Picnic.
Places Visited: Sonamarg and Manasbal were the main places for this Picnic. Students visited markets of Manasbal and had some shopping. They had Shikara Rides in the Deepest Lake of Kashmir i.e Manasbal Lake.
Conclusion: Students of AGS, Ziran liked Picnic very much. They got an opportunity to interact with tourists of Sonamarg and Manasbal to know their culture & social activities. The initiative of conducting Picnic after a long gap of three yrs due to COVID sit is highly appreciated by the parents of AGS students.

Intro: World Environment Day is commemorated to raise awareness about environmental issues, the increasingly deteriorating conditions, climate change etc. This day is celebrated every year to remind the people across the globe about the harm we have been causing to our environment, how we have disturbed the natural balance of our environment, and what measures can be taken to reverse the damage. World Environment Day is a platform for raising awareness on environmental issues such as marine pollution, overpopulation, global warming, sustainable consumption and wildlife crime. The day aims to focus on the importance of the environment and to remind people that nature should not be taken for granted.
AGS, Ziran celebrated World Environment Day on 06 June 2022. All the students and faculty members participated with full energy. Events conducted to celebrate World Environment Day:
Cleanliness Drive in Whole Campus of the school, Essay Writing Competition and Video Workshop.
Aim: The day aims to focus on the importance of the environment and to remind people that nature should not be taken for-granted. The World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 of every year with the aim to mark the importance of nature and raise awareness for its protection.
Theme: This year the theme of World Environment Day is "Only One Earth" which was also the first-ever theme.
Participants: In Cleanliness Drive, all students from classes 6th to 10th participated. Students were seen with Banners, Posters, Dustbins, and Large Bags during the cleanliness drive. The cleanliness activity was carried out with much zeal and enthusiasm by the students. In Essay Competition, 02 students each from 6th to 10th participated. In Video Workshop all students from classes 2nd and 3rd were present.
Conclusion: The event was concluded with the pledge towards creating a clean India by keeping our surroundings clean. The state of our environment is falling day by day due to pollution and global warming. We must celebrate environment-friendly development to save the environment for a better future in our country.
AGS ZIRAN OBSERVED WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY ON 31 MAY 2022
Intro: On the occasion of “World No Tobacco Day”, an awareness rally by the staff members and the students was organized by Army Goodwill School, Ziran from Ziran to Sub-District Hospital via Main Market Tangmarg. During the rally, public awareness play-cards were displayed to inform the people about the adverse effects of smoking or chewing any means of tobacco. Pamphlets containing messages like “No Tobacco or Tobacco Free Society” were also distributed among the general public. An awareness programme at Sub-District Hospital Tangmarg was also organized to inform the common people that the use of tobacco causes various types of cancers, cardiovascular diseases, TB and several other diseases. In the said programme, BMO Tangmarg along with a team of doctors also participated and shared their thoughts regarding the ill effects of tobacco. The use of tobacco reduces the life span of smokers by 6 to 10 years as compared to non-smokers.
Aim: The main aim of observing “World No Tobacco Day” was to raise awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of using tobacco and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form.
Participants: A total number of 10 faculty members and 120 students from AGS, Ziran participated in the rally and the awareness programme on “World No Tobacco Day”. In addition, The BMO Tangmarg along with a team of Doctors and supporting staff also participated.
Theme: This year the theme of “World No Tobacco Day” was “Protect the Environment”.
Description: Speeches on the awareness were delivered by Ms. Kulsooma (Teacher) and Ms. Mahinoor Moomin, Ms. Tabasum (Students) during the awareness programme. Common people present there were made aware about the hazardous effects of tobacco and how this tobacco use has been a silent killer of the mankind. According to WHO, the harmful impact of the tobacco industry on the environment is vast and growing adding unnecessary pressure to our planet’s already scarce resources and fragile ecosystems. In the end, the BMO Tangmarg highlighted the significance of the day and appreciated the initiative taken by Army Goodwill School, Ziran for such a programme.
AGS ZIRAN CONDUCTED PHASE-II OF INTER-AGS ONLINE ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION 2022 ON 21 MAY 2022
Intro: Writing is an important part of life, whether at school, college, university or at workplace/ business. It helps to express feelings and thoughts to the other in a relatively permanent way and helps to express thoughts, feelings, ideas and beliefs. Writing encourages and enhances critical thinking, creative thinking and helps in organising thoughts and improve communication skills. Writing also helps in better presentation of facts, improves development of constructive arguments about a topic and articulate opinions.
In order to achieve the above mentioned criteria, the Phase-II of online essay writing competition was conducted by AGS, Ziran Tangmarg on 21-May-2022. A total number of 6 Teams of CIF (K), CIF(V), 19 Inf Div, 28 Inf Div and 15 Corps Arty Bde comprising 3 Participants each participated in the said competition to draw out the Talent, Imagination, Originality and Modernism in the field of writing among the participants. The competition was held through an online mode (Zoom Cloud Meetings) where the participants showcased their writing talents on different chapters.
Aim: The ultimate aim of this conduct was to provide the students an opportunity to showcase their critical and writing skills, write persuasively and presenting the topic in a well-connected & compact manner.

In a bid to hone the writing skills of the students of all the AGS’s, an online essay writing competition was conducted by AGS, Ziran Tangmarg on 20-May-2022. A total number of 7 AGSs of 19 inf Div, 28 Inf Div and 15 Corps Arty Bde participated in the said competition to bring out the creativity and innovation in the domain of writing among the budding writers. The competition was held through an online mode (Zoom Cloud Meet) where the participants showcased their writing skills on different themes. Pertinently, it has been an endeavor of all the AGSs, in the newly created UT of J&K to provide an open platform to the students’ vis-à-vis displaying their potential in the field of writing.
Aim: The sole aim of this competition was to encourage and emerge the talent to shore up the writing skills and to bring out the creativity and innovation in the domain of writing among the budding writers.

GUEST LECTURE BY DR MANSOOR AHMAD, MD NEURO-PSYCHIATRY
Intro: Dr. Mansoor Ahmad, MD Neuro-Psychiatry delivered a guest lecture at AGS, Ziran on Thursday 19th of May 2022. He acknowledged the students about Stress, Headache, Depression, Memory Issues, Childhood Learning Problems, Epilepsy, Sexual Disorders, De-addiction, Fears, Phobias, Anxiety, Loss of Consciousness and Tension etc.
Aim: The aim of this programme was to provide a working knowledge to the students about the mental disorders which in most cases originate from the brain malfunction.
Participants: All students of classes 8th, 9th and 10th attended this lecture/ programme along with some teachers.
Conclusion: The programme was concluded with the information that anxiety disorders, stress, depression can make it hard for students to get schoolwork done or study. It may affect their relationship with peers and teachers, too. In some cases, students with anxiety disorders miss a lot of school days, or they may avoid school altogether.
"The better way to prevent yourself from this is to keep yourself busy with some work."

Intro: AGS, Ziran celebrated Yoga Day on 19th May 2022. Yoga is a systematic practice of physical exercise, breath control, relaxation, diet control, positive thinking, and meditation aimed at developing harmony in the body, mind, and environment. The day was celebrated to aware the students as well as teachers about the benefits of Yoga. "Regular Yoga practice creates body awareness; relieves chronic stress patterns; relax the mind; centers attention; and sharpens concentration".
Aim: The aim of Yoga is self-realization, to overcome all kinds of sufferings leading to, ' the state of liberation or Freedom ', living with freedom in all walks of life. Health and harmony shall be the main objectives of Yoga practice. The ultimate aim of Yoga is to experience the truth, by realizing the true nature of our "Self" and the Universe.
Participants: All the male staff members along with the students of class 8th, 9th and 10th (Boys and Girls) participated in Yoga.
Conclusion: The Yogic and the Meditative practices were concluded with the awareness that all the students should make use of Yoga to improve their physical, Vital, mental, psychological and spiritual aspects. So that we may ensure success in all the fields of activities.
ZONAL LEVEL NAAT AND TILAWAT COMPETITION
Intro: On 12th May 2022, a Zonal level Naat and Tilawat competition was conducted by WAKF School, Hajibal in which a total number of 10 schools of the zone participated. The participants from each school recited verses of the Holy Quran and Naat to motivate the Judges of the said competition.
Aim: The aim of holding the competition was to provide students a platform to develop cultural, spiritual, moral and aesthetic abilities.
Theme: To develop love of Prophet (P.B.U.H) in the hearts of students so they love and help mankind."
Participants: A total number of 40 students from 10 schools (04 x participants from each school) participated in the said competition. Each student recited either a Naat or verses of the Holy Quran in their melodious voices.
Conclusion: In the said competition, AGS, Ziran bagged 1st and 2nd Position in the Qirat. The winners were awarded with cash prizes. The Event was concluded with an intent to appreciate the efforts of all the participants. The principal appreciated the participants for beautiful recitation in both the disciplines.
AGS, ZIRAN CELEBRATED WORLD RED CROSS DAY
Intro: World Red Cross Day was observed at AGS, Ziran on 10th of May 2022. A special assembly in this scenario was organized on the day wherein the staff members of the school came forward, speeches were delivered, the students were apprised of the job being done by the Red Cross Society during natural calamities or war time. The students were motivated to know more about the society and to serve the humanity if get a chance.
A symposium on the importance of the day, drawing cum painting competition was also held at AGS, Ziran in which students of classes 6th, 7th and 8th participated.
The day was celebrated to commemorate the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, every year. The day also marks the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, who was the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The day is the annual celebration of their principles when people in every corner of the world pay tribute to the humanitarian agencies for their amazing contribution to helping people in need.
Theme: The theme of World Red Cross Day 2022 is " Be Kind to Human". With this year's theme, the international Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies (IFRC) is putting kindness in the picture and is encouraging all kindness to each other. It is enlightening us all that despite the world appearing scary and extremely tough, there is hope and humanity that can be found in the act of kindness.
Aim: The day aims to broaden the public understandings of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Red Crescent societies are affiliated and work in cooperation with the World Red Cross to assist in the activities of the movement. The day celebrates the uniqueness and unity of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Participants: 01x student from Each House & 01x teacher from Blue House & Green House
Conclusion: The celebration reached its zenith when Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar (Science Teacher) proposed the vote of thanks and expressed his sense of cordial gratitude towards the students for their splendid performance and concluded the celebration with these slogans:

AGS, ZIRAN CELEBRATED INTERNATIONAL MOTHER'S DAY
Intro: International Mother's Day was celebrated at AGS, Ziran on Monday 09th of May 2022. The day is celebrated to express respect, honor, and love towards mothers. This day is an event to honor the contribution of mothers, acknowledge the effects of maternal bonds and the role of mothers in our society. It is the day which makes people remember the importance and significance of mothers in their life and is observed as a day to give special emphasis to motherly figures around the world.
Aim: The main aim of this day was to aware the students about the sacrifices of mother for their children. The day is commemorated to honor the existence of mothers and their significance in people's lives, from being a care-given to becoming a protector, from being a friend to a mentor.
Theme: The theme of Mother’s Day 2022 is "The Low Status of a Women in her family, and how she deserves to be the boss of the Family".
Participants: A speech competition on the said Topic was conducted in the school in which 08 students, 02 from each house (Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue) delivered their speeches and emphasized the importance of mothers.
Conclusion: In the said competition, Blue House was declared as the Winner of the competition. The winners were awarded with the medals. The Event was concluded with an intent to salute the efforts and sacrifices of all the mothers. It was a memorable day for every child / student that left and everlasting impression on their innocent hearts.
INTER- HOUSE QUIZ COMPETITION AT AGS, ZIRAN
Intro: AGS, Ziran conducted an Inter-House Quiz Competition on 7th May 2022. The objective behind this was to evaluate the knowledge of the participants as well as beyond academics and to make them familiar with the prospects of quizzes and the objectivity of the question. Quiz competition promotes a healthy debate amongst participants in order to learn from each other. The competition covered the areas of Science, S Science, English, Computer, Urdu, G. Knowledge and Identifying sounds of birds and animals.
Aim: The main aim of the competition was to develop interest and to popularize quizzing activities among students and to encourage them to take part in all competitive examination. It helps the students to instill the values of knowledge, wisdom and compassion to make them smart citizens.
Participants: There were a total of 4 teams, one from each house i.e (Blue House, Red House, Green House and Yellow House). Every team had 3 members who were from classes 6th, 7th and 8th.
Conclusion: The competition was concluded by honoring the winners with the medals and certificates. The Green House was declared the winner of the quiz competition. Overall, the INTER- HOUSE Quiz Competition was a huge triumph.
English Language Day
English Language Day is celebrated on 23 April as it marks the occasion of William Shakespeare's birth anniversary as well as his death anniversary. At the time of Shakespeare's existence during the 16th and 17th centuries, the English language underwent a lot of changes.
Intro:-
Army Goodwill School Ziran celebrated English Language Day today on 23rd April 2022. On the day a “Speech Competition” was conducted in which two students each from classes 08, 09 and 10 participated. Participating students not only throw light on the evolution/history of English language but also showed its importance in the modern world.
LSRW, pronunciation, syllable stress and study of sounds were the main fields of focus
Aim:-
English Language Day aims to entertain and inform people about the history, culture and achievements associated with the language. The day often features book-reading events, English quizzes, poetry and literature exchanges, and other activities that promote the English language.
The main objective of this day is to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity. Under the initiative, UN duty stations around the world celebrate six separate days, each dedicated to one of the Organization's six official languages.

Visit of Mrs Usha Panday, Zonal President Chinar AWWA to AGS, Ziran
Mrs Usha Pandey, Zonal President Chinar AWWA visited Army Goodwill School, Ziran on 19 Apr 2022. Zonal President Chinar AWWA was briefed by Mr Maqsood Ahmad Khan, Principal AGS, Ziran on various teaching and administrative initiatives/ methodologies undertaken to impart quality education to the students in all spheres of their curriculum.
In her Speech she said that to facilitate the students with new methods of teaching is most important to attain the goal of sustainable development. She also exhorted all the faculty members to continue strive towards excellence in near future. It will help the students to increase their confidence and esteem, as well as result in praise, good grades, and other benefits.
She also interacted with the students of secondary level and emphasised on attaining the two predominant attributes by all i.e Humanity and Wisdom. The event was concluded by felicitating the state level Wushu champions and a group photograph in the end.
Inter House Naat and Seerat Competition
On 16th April 2022, an Inter-House Seerat and Naat competition was held at AGS, Ziran in which four Houses of the school viz Red House, Green House, Blue House and Yellow House participated. The participants from each house recited Naats and delivered speeches to impress/ motivate the Judges of the event. In the end, the Judges of the event declared Yellow House as the Winner of the Seerat Competition and Green House as the Winner of the Naat Competition. The Winners were awarded with Prizes.
Plantation drive organised by AGS,Ziran.
Introduction:- AGS, Ziran organized a plantation drive on 21st of March 2022, inside the school surrounding aimed at campaigning for green culture and promoting a greener ecosystem along with providing a pollution free atmosphere. As a part of the initiative saplings were planted
Aim: The plantation drive was conducted with an aim to control global warming, make environment pollution free and spread awareness on the importance of keeping a clear environment.
Participants: The staff and students of class 9th and 10th participated this drive enthusiastically and helped each other in planting the saplings. The students along with the teachers also took an oath to look after the planted saplings, plant more and more trees and encourage others to do the same.

Celebration of International Women's Day.
To recognise the contribution and significance of women in various fields , the students of AGS, Ziran celebrated Women's day on March 08 with great passion and enthusiasm. Celebration began with a movie being shown on Women Empowerment followed by speeches given by both the students and teachers wherein both the students and the teachers recognised the role and importance of women in life's various domains , acknowledging various career options now available for women to excel in and inspired the audience to show strength and perseverance in their lives. The celebration highlighted the theme of International Women's Empowerment Day 2022 that is "Gender Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow". The event culminated with a drawing competition for students of class Vth to VIIIth wherein the students actively participated and showcased their talent and creativity.

International Mother Language Day was celebrated at Govt HSS Chandilora. In this event ten schools of Tangmarg zone participated . Syed Farhat of Army Goodwill School Ziran got Second position,she was the only student of AGS,Ziran who participated in this event.
Republic Day Celebrations.
AGS,Ziran celebrated 73rd Republic Day with great enthusiasm. On this day the Principal Hoisted the Flag and sweets were distributed among the participants.
Junior Kick boxing Championship.
Ubair Nazir of class 5th from AGS,Ziran participated in Juniors National Kick Boxing Champainship held at Pune from 21 Dec. 2021 to 26 Dec.2021.He also qualifies for Nationals.
District Wushu Championship held on 23/11/2021.
AGS,Ziran shines again in the District Wushu Championship which took place at the Indoor Sports Stadium Baramulla. More than 200 players participated in this championship . AGS,Ziran shone by blistering performance and won 17 Medals (7 Gold, 3 Silver and 7 Bronze) in this championship and overall 2nd position in the competition.
Felicitation programme at AGS,Ziran on 9th of Nov. 2021.
The programme was conducted to Felicitate the students who have been selected for APS BEAS Punjab. The Indian Army contributed alot in this by providing the best opportunities/ platforms to provide efficient educational facilities in the survelliance of present schemes at the Elementary to Higher Educational levels. Such facilities will have to prepare the youths for achieving the best goals to compete the towering positions in the field of Education and Social Curriculum.
Operational Sadbhavna is another unique humane intiative undertaken by Indian Army in the JK UT to provide basic facilities to the students in the field of education. This unique operation has provided succor to a large section of population of the JK UT.

A one day orientation programme cum workshop held at AGS,Ziran on 6th of Nov. 2021.

Introduction:- AGS, Ziran organised speech competition to celebrate the International Girl Child Day on 11th of Oct. 2021. The occasion marks the importance of girl child and attempts at identifying their power and potential by opening opportunities for them .

AGS,Ziran celebrated wildlife week with great enthusiasm .Wildlife week is celebrated to promote protection and conversation of the wildlife. The idea is to spread awareness among school going children about wildlife and their importance in the whole ecosystem.

Aim : The main aim was to focus on development of a healthy and favourable environment for animals in order to preserve them and to spread awareness about conservation of wildlife.

Celebration of Gandhi Jayanti.
AGS, Ziran organised painting cum drawing competition , Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and speech Competition to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2021. This day is celebrated in the honour of the birthday of the Father of Nation , Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi , popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi or Bapuji .
The aim of this event to celebrate was " disseminate the message of non-violence , including through education and public awareness ". Let's lead a life in peace by following the path of non-violence . This day is observed to honour and pay rich tributes to the father of the nation , and on this day people remember his invaluable contributions to India's freedom struggle and independence moment. His path-breaking principles of ahimsa and swaraj are observed across all the institutions in India.
PARTICIPANTS :-
41 students participated drawing and painting competition. The theme for this competition was "Non-violence ".
All the students of class 6th and 9th along with 15 teachers participated the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
DESCRIPTION :-
The event of Gandhi Jayanti was concluded with the speeches delivered by the students . Through their speeches they highlight that the spirit of truth and non-violence be with us on this Gandhi Jayanti . He taught us to be the change we wish to see in the world. The purpose of this day was to advance the ideas of Gandhiji who fought for the freedom of India from great Britain using non-violence.
The message that we get from this day is that violence is not good for us if we want to live in peace , so " Let's remember Mahatma Gandhi who shook the world in a gentle way !"

Celebration of International Literacy Day :
AGS, ZIRAN organized the drawing and painting competition to celebrate an International Literacy Day on 08th of Sept. 2021. In this competition almost 12 students participated and showed the importance of literacy through their art of drawing and painting. This day was celebrated to spread awareness about the importance of Literacy for Individuals, Communities, and Societies and the need for intensified efforts towards more Literate Societies. It is necessary to raise awareness in the world of Literacy issues that are faced by people and also to endorse campaigns that help in increasing literacy for all the people.
THEME:-
International Literacy Day (ILD) 2021 was celebrated under the theme " Literacy for a human-centered recovery: Narrowing the digital divide."
Literacy is a driver of sustainable development. It empowers individuals, and improves their awareness about the same. Therefore,it is necessary to focus on linguistic diversity in education and literacy development to overcome the challenges and to achieve sustainable development goals.
ANCHOR:-
The anchor of this celebration/occasion was Sumaira a class 9th student. The anchor of this program highted the importance of Literacy that the purpose to spread the awareness is not only to combat illiteracy but also as to promote literacy as a tool that could empower individuals as whole communities.

The speeches delivered by all the above participants were only to promote human attention towards literacy and know their rights for social and human development. Therefore, this day is celebrated to encourage the people towards getting continious education and understand their responsibility for the family, society, and the country.
Through themes and several programmes, it aims to highlight the role of literacy and skills development in the context of changing world.
CONCLUSION:- The event was concluded when all the participants were appreciated for their good deeds and efforts. The performance of all the participants were out of place.
Teachers Day Celebrations.
Students of AGS Ziran organized an event in honour of their teachers and delivered speeches mentioning their role in imparting the right education and helping becoming responsible citizens of the nation by shaping their future. After the speech of students anchor Miss Mahinoor Momin requested the teachers to share their valuable experiences among all in the presence.
As a mark of respect and honour all teachers of AGS and group D staff were honoured with gifts (Tea Sets). Principle Mr. Maqsood Ahmad along with three teachers Mr. Rameez Ahmad (PET), Mr. Asif Ahmad (English Teacher) and Mr. Farooq Ahmad
( Kashmiri & Urdu Teacher) were rewarded for their special contribution in winning the various competitions by our school teams organized at different levels in which teams from AGS, Ziran participated.
Conclusion. The teacher day celebration was concluded by the OIC, AGS, Ziran. He praised the teaching staff for their hard work and dedication towards this noble profession of teaching and expected the same fervor in their future endevours also. He brought out that the sole aim of teaching learning process is to bring out best out the individual and to recognize their hidden potentials at early stage for further channelisation and refinement.
Online Debate Competition.
An online debate Competition was held on 25th of Aug 2021 among all the AGS's of the valley .
The competition was divided into three categories .Each Category contains 8 schools .
AGS,Ziran Topped the category in first round .
The given topic was "Should Cellphones be alloweded in Schools" .
Two students from each AGS participated in this event.
Mahinoor Momin and Nausheen Nazir helped AGS,Ziran to achieve one more milestone with great success.
Online Painting cum Drawing Competition.
AGS Ziran participated in online painting cum drawing competition which was organised by AGS,Wayne on 21st of Aug 2021.

AGS,Ziran organised painting cum drawing competition on 15th of August 2021.

(e) Result : Out of six positions AGS,Ziran won four positions .Two positions in higher level and Two positions in Middle Level.
(F) Prize Distribution : The prizes were distributed by the SDM Tangmarg , OIC AGS,Ziran and Principal of AGS,Ziran among the participants.
Independence Day Celebrations.
AGS,Ziran celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm.The day as the name suggests is to remember and to celebrate the struggles and the contribution of those who have shed their blood for making India a great nation.
Flag Hosting:- Flag hoisted by the SDM Tangmarg and OIC,AGS,Ziran along with staff members and the students.
This special day was enlightened with various programs:-
(a) Speech in English & Hindi.

(c) Solo song
(d) Dance
Conclusion :- SDM Tangmarg delivered a speech and highlighted the great Leaders and their sacrifices for the nation.
Zonal level Essay and Painting Competition .

AGS,Ziran conducted an online essay writing competition on 29th of july 2021.
The competition was divided into three segments.

Theme : Online education and its challenges for the children. & Kashmir land of art and music.
Segment II : Secondary level
Total no. of participants : 46
Theme : Role of sports and culture in personality building.
Segment III : Teachers
Total no. of participants: 56
Theme : New education policy and how teachers can leverage it to improve education in schools.
Aim : The aim of this competition was to develop creativity and critical thinking , the ability to organise logical and relevant ideas, write persausively, present the topic in a compact and coherent manner and develop a positive attitude towards the various spheres touching the human lives.
